Family Health Options Kenya (FHOK), has a wealth of experience in youth programming in Kenya. The Adolescent/Youth project area started in 1977 when the organization recognized the need to address the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) needs of young people. The current youth project began in 1977 with the introduction of Family Life Education (FLE) project involving youth in secondary schools which was later expanded to include out-of-school youth. The need therefore to integrate SRH services and information provision to young people led to the establishment youth centres with the following objectives;
• To provide reproductive health information and services
to the youth aged 10 to 24 years who are not yet
sexually active in order to assist them to delay the
onset of sexual activity.

to the youth aged 10 to 24 years who are sexually
active to assist them to prevent and thus reduce the
incidence of reproductive health related problems.
• To support the government in introducing FLE in schools
• To support the government in introducing FLE in schools
and complement the efforts by actively undertaking
FLE activities for in-and out-of school youth, parents,
teachers, the community and opinion leaders.
