According to KDHS 2008/09 the contraceptive prevalence rate for all methods of family planning has risen from 39% in year 2003 to 46% for married women. Therefore 64% of the total demand for family planning is met and hence the unmet need still remains high at 26% for married women. In addition the Mortality Ratio has risen from 414 in 2003 to 488 per 100,000 in year 2009. Our strategic objective under this area is that all people, particularly the adolescents/young people and the underserved are able to exercise their rights, to make free and informed choices about their sexual education and high quality services including Family Planning. A total of 875,225 services were provided on family planning, other SRH services and information through static clinics and mobile outreach in the community. The static clinics are Phoenix, Ribeiro in Nairobi, Thika, Meru, Nakuru. Kisumu and Mombasa which is also a model Youth Centre. Nairobi west and Eldoret clinics provide maternity services in addition to other SRH services.
